LocationFive minutes drive from the city center on the scenic Coast Road at the gateway to Connemara, Cashelmara Lodge is the ideal tourist base located just one hour from Shannon airport and two hours from Dublin airport it is in a prime postion for guest interested in touring the west of Ireland. There is off road parking and many bus comapnies run professional guided tour for those traveling without a car. Guests can be picked up right outside the B&B. As can be seen by the map there are many traditional Irish restaurants within walking distance to the B&B, these restaurants offer Irish cuizine at a great price. |

Lots of local tourist attractions, many are within walking distance.Galway is a cultural centre, attracting thousands to the many festivals throughout the year. A few of the big attractions include The Cúirt International Festival of Literature, the Galway Arts Festival, the Galway Races and the Oyster Festival they are famous throughout Ireland and beyond. Theatre lovers are particularly blessed with a number of superb theatre companies based in the city, including the world-renowned Druid Theatre Company. The state-of-the-art Town Hall Theatre was opened in 1993 and covers all aspects of the performing arts including concerts, ballet, musicals, and operas.

SalthillSalthill is situated just 2 km West of Galway City and a fifteen minute walk from the B&B. Salthill is a seaside village which attracts many tourists all year round.It has a 5 km long promenade, locally known as the Prom, overlooking Galway Bay with bars, restaurants and hotels. Salthill has been a center point for the 2009 Volvo Ocean Race, as well as the more recent Round-Ireland Powerboat race in 2010. During these events. Salthill's main attracting every year has been its promenade and numerous sandy beaches. Sathill having a clear blue sea along with a diving area located at Blackrock beach is popular with locals and tourists alike. Blackrock, having steps down to the sea, is used all year round regardless of the water temperature. The show Trad on the Prom is just down the road from our Lodge and is a favourite of our guests. Marian Fahy and Band direct from Riverdance, The Chieftains and Loard of the Dance. Established as the Number One Show in Ireland, Trad on the Prom returns for another season to Salthill. This spectacular celebration of Irish Culture at its best transcends language barriers with its unique blend of world class Irish Music, Song and Dance.
